Halogen lamps have a similar design to standard incandescent lamps. By using halogen compounds, it is possible to improve light efficiency and increase the lifespan. Higher permissible temperatures inside the lamp enable a considerably more compact design compared to standard incandescent lamps. Halogen lamps offer a wide range of design possibilities, beginning with spotlights for accentual lighting, right up to floodlights for illuminating large areas. They are available as low-voltage lamps for 12 V power supplies as well as for direct operation with 230 V mains voltage. Both variations are dimmable. Before using these lamps, check whether legal regulations restrict their use.
